Dave Karan, MA, LPCC
David has a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology and is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC). He has been working in the mental health field for the past nine years. His experience includes counseling adolescents (13+) and adults in a variety of settings and roles. A large portion of his clinical practice has been working as a Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) facilitator for adolescents and adults in an intensive outpatient setting; while also providing individual therapy to complex clients with mood disorders (depression, anxiety), personality disorders, relationship/family problems, trauma and chemical dependency concerns.
David utilizes a humanistic and cognitive- behavior therapy approach with his clients. He believes in a collaborative method with each individual. By uniting, he believes his clients are empowered to identify a personal vision of recovery, a vision that aligns with their personal motivation for change. David recognizes that all individuals are unique, not only in their experiences but in their abilities and goals; which is why collaboration, validation, acceptance and positive regard are necessary to his therapeutic approach.
